Oma töös uurin ühelt poolt maastiku ajaloo ja struktuuri ning teiselt poolt keskkonnatingimuste mõju taimekooslustele – nende liigirikkusele, liigilisele koosseisule, populatsioonide seisundile ja koosluste taastumisele taastamise järgselt. Eelkõige uurin neid nähtuseid Eesti loopealsete näitel, aga ka põllumajandusmaastikes. Samuti huvitab mind, kuidas on taimede tunnused seotud muutustega maastikus ja keskkonnas ning milliste tunnustega liigid on neile muutustele rohkem või vähem vastuvõtlikud.
