On 11 November we held a joint autumn seminar in Lodjakoda with macroecology work group, this time on the topic of evolutionary and phylogenetic aspects. Our guest speakers this time were Marina Semchenko and Robert Davis. Tsipe and Sabrina from our work group spoke about the importance of including evolutionary aspects in nature conservation and our research on adaptive genetic diversity of cowslip, and Aveliina about the causes of freshwater plant species richness and distribution patterns from a climate perspective (published research article) and possible phylogenetic causes. During the day we heard very different and exciting presentations. In the evening we had a little tour in the new Lodjakoda and went to the sauna there.
