Summer in the City

While our fieldwork usually takes place in the semi-natural grasslands of Western Estonia, then this field season has begun in our hometown Tartu. During fieldwork, the baseline data about the species diversity of plants and insects in the parks of the central part of Tartu is collected to monitor the effect of biodiversity-friendly management practices, which were introduced in Tartu this year. Mirjam will use this data in her master thesis about urban biodiversity. Tartu Postimees also wrote about the fieldwork.
