Aveliina and Elisabeth went to ESP conference in Hannover

Aveliina and Elisabeth with colleagues from other workgroups (Tanel Vahter – plant ecology workgroup, Miguel Villoslada – University of Life Sciences, Chair of Environmental Protection and Landscape Management) went to ESP 10 World conference in Hannover from 20th to 25th of October. Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) is an association studying ecosystem services. It's aiming to contribute to the development of research on ecosystem services and the promotion of nature conservation and sustainable land use. Aveliina talked about the importance of historical land-use and habitat continuity in assessing ecosystems and their services in the conference. The topic of Elisabeth's talk was restoring grasslands for increasing biodiversity and creating ecosystem service hotspots. In addition, the reunion of ALTER-Net Summer School participants took place in the conference. Elisabeth, who graduated from this summer school, is also on the picture. ALTER-Net Summer School aims to educate young scientists and students about ecosystem services and is also part of ESP association activities.
