Scientific and newspaper articles on biodiversity in agricultural landscapes published by members of our workgroup

Tsipe co-authored a paper to be published in Functional Ecology about the plant diversity of European agricultural landscapes. The study encompassing test sites from nine European countries showed that intense management of crop-fields substantially reduces the taxonomic as well as functional diversity of vascular plants close to field margins. In addition, larger area of fields and higher proportion of agricultural fields in the landscapes was related to lower plant diversity. Furthermore, an article by Aveliina was published in Sirp (in Estonian) on Friday, calling for more attention to be paid to agriculture and how it affects the environment and nature.
