DarkDivNet workshop in Tartu

At the DarkDivNet 2019 workshop, 20 – 23 November, Aveliina, Iris, and Sabrina represented our group with oral and poster presentations. The workshop was the first meeting of DarkDivNet, a global network which aims to explore the dark diversity within plant communities. Dark diversity, a concept developed by Meelis Pärtel's workgroup, is the part of the local species pool of plant communities which is not realized. Aveliina had a plenary presentation about dark diversity in restoration and conservation, Iris presented a poster of her ongoing work of landscape genetics referring to the invisible genetic diversity, and Sabrina gave an oral presentation about plant species richness in the hidden world of roots.
