14th Estonian Ecology Conference took place at 22th of April. Conference topic was "Estonian Landscapes 100", where various scientists and specialists in the field of ecology spoke about Estonian Landscapes in a historical and different spatial scales. Aveliina Helm, the leader of our workgroup, also gave a presentation on "Estonian landscapes and plant communities". The presentation addressed multiple topics: land use change over the last century, the state of ecosystems, the crisis of biodiversity and climate change, the crossing of planetary boundaries and mitigation measures. To ensure more beautiful future, it is necessary to take into account the history, composition of landscapes and the state of ecosystems when making land use decisions. The conference provided a very thorough and good overview of the changes in the Estonian Landscape during the last 100 years and the current challenges.
