Iris talked about her doctoral thesis at the department's seminar

On December 15, a doctoral student of our workgroup, Iris, gave a presentation abaout her doctoral thesis at the seminar of the Botany Department of the University of Tartu. Iris talked about how landscape changes affect the genetic diversity of grassland plants. During the last century, land use has changed drastically, and therefore many semi-natural grasslands have become overgrown, affecting the genetic diversity of the plants growing there. However, genetic diversity is necessary for the survival of plant species and should be preserved.
