Oliver Kalda was awarded the best presentation award at the Doctoral Conference of the Department of Botany

At the department's doctoral student conference held every two years, Oliver Kalda, a junior researcher at the Landscape Biodiversity Workgroup, gave the best presentation this year.

The Conference of the Department of Botany, where second- and third-year doctoral students present their research, took place this year on Nelijärve in Harjumaa. During the two days, there was both fun in the snow and scientific presentations were held. As is customary, the evaluation committee selected the top three from the eleven presentations.

Oliver Kalda, a Junior Research Fellow in Biodiversity and Ecological Sustainability, gave the best presentation, talking about the migration of bats. Laura Puura, who spoke about the adaptation of plants to soil organisms, took the first place, and Ali Hakimzadeh, who discussed the faulty DNA sequences produced by DNA sequencing, took second place.
