Our work group, together with the macroecology work group, developed an application called greenmeter that helps to assess the natural diversity of Estonian landscapes. To use the greenmeter, you must select a point on the map and then the greenmeter calculates how good the selected location within a radius of 500 meters is for biodiversity. In addition, information on the current situation and recommendations on how to improve the situation are given. The greenmeter therefore helps to make better decisions when designing your yard or public space, for example. Try the application here, read more about it on Tartu Postimees (in Estonian) and watch Terevisioon's interview with Avelina (starts at about 01:30:30; in Estonian).
