Aveliina discussed applications of historical ecology at the annual meeting of British Ecological Society

Aveliina participated in this year's annual meeting of British Ecological Society from 10th to 13th December in Belfast. She gave a keynote talk in the thematic session "Historical Ecology and the Future of Restoration Science" where she discussed how historical land-use can guide conservation and restoration and provided examples from Estonia, indicating how knowledge of historical processes in ecosystems and landscapes has helped to achieve a better outcome in conservation and restoration.
