On 5th-6th September took place fieldwork of the WoodMeadowLIFE project in the wood meadows of Saaremaa and Abruka, which will be restored this fall. In addition to the experts, landowners also participated in the fieldwork. Landowners wanted more information about the restoration work and were aware of the value of wooded meadows in advance. The historical connection with their land also motivates them to restore and maintain the areas. During the current fieldwork, it was looked at which trees and groups of bushes to keep and which to remove in order to restore the structure characteristic of wooded meadows. Kristiina from our workgroup participated.
