The alvar restoration project received the award for the best LIFE project ever

The "Life for Alvars" project was selected by the European Commission as the best LIFE project ever carried out in Nature 2000 sites. The project took place in 2014-2019, the aim of which was to restore 2,500 hectares of the remaining alvars in Western Estonia and to build the infrastructure necessary for further grazing of the areas. Our workgroup was one of the partners in the project and we carried out biodiversity monitoring there.
